Beauty In The Mundane
An immersive exhibition taking place at Bath Spa University. It showcased student artwork, nature footage and videos from the Depict archive that highlighted the unexpected places beauty can be found. The exhibition required planning, development, marketing and execution. It aimed to provide an escape for students in a hectic period of exams and deadlines.
Solution?
The concept of the exhibition was developed to provide a space for Bath Spa students to relax and feel creatively inspired. Using the cinema space, the exhibition was centred around the idea of a quiet immersive experience. I collaborated with potential contributing artists, ensuring we had both a range of artists from different backgrounds involved, and an enjoyable experience to share.
To promote the exhibition, I created a logo, intriguing promotional posters and an accessible exhibition guide. The bold type for the logo reflected the unmissable, immersive experience, whilst the posters showcased intriguing snaps from exhibition that could increase exhibition footfall. A dynamic exhibition guide engaged attendees and effectively led them to our feedback form and social media.
An additional aspect of the project was to contribute immersive nature footage. I produced a range of professionally shot timelapses and videos that captured the movement of the clouds at different times of day. This developed a narrative of its own, as the audience were immersed in a stormy day. You can find clips of this footage on my Behance!
